Alliance First - Princess Huhuran Pwned

After a few nights of working out the kinks and several close kills (8%, 7%, 4%, etc.) we finally got that bitch nailed. Again, we'll settle for a server second and an alliance first, but we're pleased with the result.

The fight is definitely one of those down to the wire fights that keeps the blood pumping.

Well, having been working on Princess Huhu a bit (our best is 4% so far), we decided to take a break and take out Vem and his two cronies (optional bosses in AQ40). The fight is fairly straight forward and is one of the easier encounters we've seen in the instance so far.

AQ20 Complete

Not that it's a big deal, but as promised, our late night crew finished off AQ20 tonight by killing Ossirian the Unscarred. The fight isn't hard, but the random nature of the tornadoes sucks.

We should have actually had him last night as we completely had the right strat. Just a few issues of stuns at bad times combined with tornadoes equals bad things. Of all of the encounters in AQ20, I'd say he was the least "fun" as well as probably the most difficult (again, due to the random factors that affect the encounter).

On a positive note, he drops three spell/skill books as well as his head so assuming he's now easily farmable, he's worth doing for at least a few weeks until we're saturated with the new spells/skills.

Alliance Firsts - Sartura & Fankriss Dead

Sartura is a server second (only FHF has claimed a kill) and therefore an alliance first. Fankriss we also think is a server second, alliance first.

Both fights were well designed and so far we're really enjoying both AQ instances. They're fresh and intersting in their approach.

Again, our late night crew went back to AQ20 and beat down Ayamiss. We messed with the final boss for a few attempts and got him to 30%. We know how to beat him, just need to execute the strat a bit better. He'll fall tonight.

Server First - Prophet Skeram Down

While we're betting other guilds will get him tonight as well (he wasn't hard) the first mob in the AQ 40 man instance, Prophet Skeram, was slain by Zephyros at 7:15pm server time. No one else has yet claimed a kill before we have on the KJ boards so we're likely to have the server first by a slight margin unless someone else can produce some earlier kill data.

Oddly,we had the server first kills in MC and BWL and now AQ.

For ha has, when we didn't have enough people to continue onward in AQ40, our late night crew killed the first four bosses in the AQ20 man for some new skill/spell upgrades and other random items. :)

Alliance Opens the AQ Gates!

With the alliance providing the necessary assistance to get the job done, Strongbad was able to click the gong and trigger the AQ gate opening sequence. Again, this isn't a Zephyros first, it's very much an alliance first. There's no way that any single guild could have accomplished this and I'm pleased that our alliance brothers choose (mostly) to support their team rather than to hold hands with the horde.
