Scepter of the Shifting Sands Complete

Our journey to complete the scepter was completed tonight at about 7:00pm PST. If it hadn't been for server crashes and the server coming back up so late, we would have probably had it last night, but as it was, Auphan beat us by about 18 hours with their scepter. Sardukar we assume will finish up this weekend.

So that means that two horde guilds and one alliance guild will have scepters to try and click the gong when the supplies efforts are complete. Go go clickfest and presumably maddening lag-filled PVP for the honor of banging the gong.

We'd like to thank all of the alliance who assisted our efforts, especially the final Eranikus fight in Moonglade. We couldn't have done it without your help. We're proud to be the alliance's proxy in the race for the gong.

Three Hours, Forty Five Minutes

The Nefarian run in Blackwing Lair for the AQ Scepter is complete. We had a five hour time limit and we completed the run in 3:45.

Only Eranikus remains... and his trigger is bugged for the moment.

More Scepter Progress

While many people told us it couldn't be done, to the best of our knowledge, we are officially caught up to Auphan and Sardukar. Tonight we finished the necessary MC run through Ragnaros, killed Maws and finished up farming the last Nightmare shard (which took us more than 18 hours of farming just for the stupid Ashenvale shard).

So what remains for us is Eranikus and the Vael to Nefarian run and we're done.

The Maws fight was fairly trivial. Our friends in Natural Horde Killers came along to lend a hand and we burned him down pretty easily. Here are a few screens or watch the video (59MB).

Our Stab at the Scepter

Well, we originally weren't going to get intimately involved in the opening of the AQ gates, but Sardukar and Auphan seemed like they were having so much fun, we couldn't let them do it alone (that and the outpouring of alliance support they had made us a little ill... they are the enemy... the PVE servers are to your left). There were also a couple of recipies we thought that could come in handy down the line so we jumped into the fray.

The horde had a couple days head start on us, but in typical Zephyros fashion, we focused all of our efforts on this project once we decided to head this direction. Late Friday night we farmed about 2,000 carapaces and finished up the other 40,000 in the following 52 hours. We were done by Sunday night.

We spoke to Anachronos and he gave Strongbad a lovely ring.

Returning to Slithus to the AQ gates, we triggered the historical look of the battles between the Night Elves, Dragons and the Quirage. Make no mistake, it was very cool. Here's a few screens and you can watch the video.

As I had to log (work in the morning), our folks were beavering away on several portions of the quest line over the course of the night. By morning, I'd expect that we'll have more farming for future portions of the quest complete with other discrete steps also complete.

As we continue our efforts, I'd like to thank our dedicated members and those select alliance who also meaningfully contributed to our quest.

Happy New Year

Welcome back everyone. We've restarted our nightly raids after a few weeks of very hardcore BG work due to people's busy holiday schedules. 1.9 launched today and we're looking forward to having some new mobs dead as soon as the gates are opened.

Stay tuned.
