Please Free the Pandas!

While most of my guild disagrees with me, I'd love to see the Pandaraens come to be the alliance race in the Burning Crusade.

Alliance First - Chromaggus Dead

Continuing our progress in BWL has been a very high priority for us and several days learning, perfecting and executing our strategy for Chromaggus was one of the more difficult exercises in the instance so far (surely only to be outdone by Nefarian himself).

But in the end, he sucumbed to our efforts and shared his phat lewts.

Broodlord 3.0 (4.0?) Down

Not that it's a big deal, but earlier tonight we attempted the new Broodlord for the first time since the patch. We were past him mid-cycle as the patch hit so this was our first opportunity to try him out. Yes, he hits harder (one of our hunters got nailed by a regular MS for 9K+ and a few of our lesser geared tanks can be one rounded) but by and large, he wasn't that much tougher than he used to be.

This is just a little note for those who are wondering if we were going to get "stuck" behind him.

Alliance Firsts - Ebonroc/Flamegor Dead

We notch two more alliance firsts in Blackwing Lair with the deaths of the final two drakes, Ebonroc and Flamegor. The "fixed" taunt issues on Ebonroc made him far easier than he was pre-patch. Flamegor wasn't terribly hard either way.

We took a quick look at Chromagus and we gathered a good deal of information for future efforts. For those keeping score, out of six mobs in BWL we've taken down so far, one was a server first, four were alliance firsts. Onward.

Ebonroc

Drake Talon Cleaver - to Zillen

Dragonbreath Hand Cannon - to Roick

Flamegor

Shroud of Pure Thought - to Tarquin

Judgement Gauntlets - to Kidkrayzee

Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros Created

About two weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to get the eye to drop from Ragnaros. For those who don't know, this is a very rare drop that is the cornerstone in creating the Sulfuras (said to be the weapon that Ragnaros himself wields).

While paladins could also make excellent use of the hammer, we decided that as the absolute best MS weapon in the game today, it had to go to a warrior. We elected to give the eye and resulting hammer to Hildingr, one of our most active and experienced warriors and one that has always been Mortal Strike specced.

We spent a few days gathering the necessary materials (most we already had, but 50 arcanite bars and 20 dark iron bars aren't typically just sitting around). We had Tarquin learn the recipie and it was forged last night. We think this is the fourth one on the server (3 alliance, 1 horde).

Hakkar Dead

ZG has been a relatively low priority for us. Our raids there are always optional for members and as such, we had previously killed every other boss there except Hakkar. Today after finishing off our MC and BWL cycles for the week, we took some people in (not even a full raid) and cleared the entire zone, including Hakkar. So, just for completeness' sake, it's done.

Ancient Hakkari Manslayer - to Trainonli (app)

Fang of the Faceless - to Tempye

Zandalrian Hero Charm - to Ceridwen from Heart of Hakkar quest

Alliance First - Firemaw Destroyed

This was definitely one of the most annoying encounters in the game (so far) in terms of bugginess. Absolutely rediculous random aggro and summoning bugs, warping and other crap riddle the encounter. And yes, we know about the aggro modifying behavior of his AEs. That's managable. It's other random aspects of the encounter that suck.

Scrolls of Blinding Light - to Tarquin

Nemesis Gloves - to Raze
