Maraudon Clear - Theradas Dead

We took a group down on patch day took a leisurely stroll through the new dungeon. Most of the named provided little challenge though the Princess provided a few thrills briefly. That said, we had a rogue as the MT all the way through the dungeon so it couldn't have been that tough ;).

In any event, some nice drops were had and she's been farmed in pick-up group form many times since that first kill.

Happy Holidays

The holidays are once again upon us, so orchestrated in-game efforts are few and far between. Many of our members are traveling (or have people traveling to see them) so our progress over the next couple weeks is likely to be slower than before. That said, in some cases, we have a few members who look at the holidays and resulting days off as "WoW days" so you may see a few of our members shooting up in level before the new year.

In game news, we've continued to work on Zul'Farrak and killed just about every named in the joint. Loot unfortunately thus far hasn't been a dramatic step above what was previously being used by most folks so we've had some of our 50+ and nearly level 50 people exploring the Sunken Temple in the Swamp of Sorrows.

I'm sure we'll soon have new pics and progress to report on all fronts. In the mean time, pick up a few snowballs at the seasonal vendors in IF and start tossin' em at everyone you see. :)

Uldaman Clear - Archaedas Down

Ok, having asked around to various alliance guilds, that most certainly have the firepower and levels to achieve this mark, we've yet to find anyone who's killed Archaedas on Kil'Jaeden. Also, Thottbot has no Kil'Jaeden profiles as wearing any of his drops. As such, we have some modicum of certainty that this is a bonafide server first. At worst, we're certain no one has done it with all but one character at level 45 or below (we had one 47 rogue who levels too much).

The encounter itself is not terribly difficult if you follow the proper strat and execute well, but it requires a decent mix of classes and levels with the right balance of healing and mitigation as well as burstable dps.

I'm pleased to say that on our fourth attempt at him, he and his cronies dropped like a rock and the book is closed on another instance.

Archaedic Stone of the Bear - to Oisin
Binds when picked up
Unique
Finger
50 Armor
+8-9 Stamina
+8-9 Strength
Requires Level 42

We'll continue to kill him for his nice rings and a few nice weapon drops but we're already exploring Zul'Farrak in Tanaris and have killed a couple named there too.

Dragonkin Eats Dirt

It's been a few weeks since we first came across the elite drake named Narillasanz in Alterac. A few of our members tried to solo him previously and then subsequently learning, he isn't meant to be soloed by anyone even close to his level given his nasty breath weapon and the fact he hits for 400+.

So a few of us decided it was time for some payback. Yes, we know he's not a significant loot mob but it was just for fun we wanted to take him down for what may well be a server first. So we shlepped a group up into the mountains with a group and destroyed him. We'll post a pic later when Cohren (or whoever it was that took the screen) gets off his lazy ass and sends it to me.

In other news, we've been working our way through Uldaman religously. It's been a week since we've killed every named in the instance EXCEPT for Archaedus (the main boss) whom we've failed three times now mostly due to having the wrong classes/dps mix in the group. To the best of our knowledge, no one on Kil'Jaeden has killed him yet either so we don't feel that bad yet.

Fear not though, he will fall soon and there will be the appropriate updates then.

SM Cathedral Destroyed

Our intrepid group mowed down dozens of the the scarlet monestary's guard to reach Commander Mograine and his false high priest Whitemane. Shortly thereafter they fell to our feet capping off our first attempt at the Cathedral Scarlet Monestary instance. We then did it a second time for good measure.

Naturally, there were loots. Here were the blues (too many greens to mention).

Herod Vanquished

Today a group of us cleared the Scarlet Monestary Barracks until we reached it's boss: Herod. Obviously all 2 and 3 pulls along the way were easily handled. Herod went down smoothly for the most part, yielding a new toy:

Raging Beserker Helm - To Svenuce
Bind on Pick Up
Head Mail
213 Armor
+13 Strength
+8 Stamina
Durability 70/70
Requires level 37
Equip: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 1%

We would have moved on to do the Cathedral today too, however the instance server wasn't cooperating and decided to turn us away.

Scarlet Monestary Breached

Some of our higher level members took a stab at the Scarlet Monestary today, ripping through the library to its boss like a hot knife through butter. At the end of our crawl, Anarchist Doan eagerly awaited our conflict.

At the end, he was on the ground, and we had the keys to the other SM instances and some proverbial noob phat loots.

Illusionary Rod - to Juwdas
