Woot! Emperor Down and We're VT Bound!

On March 1st, the officers informed the membership that all efforts from that point forward would be towards downing the Emperor and making our way to VT. With what could only be called an incredibly trying and mindnumbing 27 days, we collected roughly 100 complete keys, and probably more than 50 bane weapons (I didn't count because rogues and monks have 2, etc. but it's a lot and ore farming sucks the ass). Please note that we accomplished this feat despite the fact that the first two and a half weeks of this period, the pouch drops were nerfed into oblivion (you'd be lucky if you saw 2 pouches in 40 taskmasters). Today, was the culmination of those efforts as we put down the Emperor in an amazing come from behind victory/recovery making us the third guild on Vallon Zek to kill him. A tip of the hat to those who came before us, the process and that fight is a bitch.

We killed a few mobs here and there, but almost all time online, usually more than 20 hours a day - from our early morning crew to our late night crew, our members muscled through the tedious tasks of keying and baning our folks. I personally would like to thank all of our members, whose discipline and focus has been unbelievable through out this effort. We took our lumps in the process and it is a real morale killer putting in all this time into an experience that I would liken to having your fingernails ripped out slowly. I'd like to thank the members for also responding positively when our officers (me being a chief offender) were Nazis about being present and assisting with our farming and goals (thankfully, we didn't have to be too bad as very few folks were resistant). People understood the vision, and helped every day to push us there. The result has been to achieve getting past that time sink in what is record time for Vallon Zek. We'll call it, a new "speed" record for the server since we'll almost never see a server first. :)

As an interesting side note, this kill caps a series of "first attempt" successes we've had in Ssra. Given that we only started farming anything other than Rhag 1 and 2 at the very end of January (it's 2 months almost to the day since our first AL kill), I think it's great that we've never lost our first fight to any big mob in Ssra. Allow me to be the 324,533rd person to declare himself the "real emperor".

New First

Well, it's no secret we've been living in Ssra lately working on a project or two. We've been killing everything except the Cursed and Emp when it's spawned and we've been around. So tons of Rhags, AL, HP, XTC down in the past two weeks or so. Also toss in a couple Burrowers for good measure. Finally, recently the Cursed triggers happened to spawn in our prime time and Defiant and/or the Euros didn't get him.

It was a little late but we still had a good crew of around 45 people with 5 clerics on so we decided to give him a shot. Well, he, Glyphed and Exiled all died our very first attempt.

No New News

Killed the AL about four more times, Burrower Parasite 2-3X, AOW couple more times, etc. I'll post loot in a few days when I have some spare time. No new news to report and it's unlikely there will be any for at least a couple more weeks. We're working on two new projects in particular but we're not going to go into them here (not that anyone who isn't paying attention wouldn't know what they are but we're not talking about them right now).

We'll talk again at the beginning of April.
