Mid-Week Update

Just so some stuff doesn't get lost in the shuffle (as it so often does), I figured I'd tote up what we've done on Monday and Tuesday (especially since the servers crashed and timing isn't an issue again).

Following some menage-a-trois pvp, we took control of Kael for our second AoW kill in two days on Monday night. This time we decided that tank switches were for pussies so we let the MT stay up there the whole time.

Tuesday night was a bit different. Some early morning folks beat up HOT, Dozekar and symbol mobs in TOV for fun and a few quest items while we still have faction. That same small group beat up Zlandicar (ST Key to Mythixx) and then took a break to exp for a bit. Later, when we had the right tanks and clerics, we moved on the Burrower in the Deep.

Some more NEW Kills (AOW and HP)

We'll start you off with some of the routine before we get to the new stuff. First off, we pretty much had all of Shissra to ourselves this weekend for some odd reason. We took advantage of it by downing Rhag 1, Rhag 2, AL, HP (one of our firsts for the weekend) and XtC. In addition to the following loots, we got a few more copies of RGC. Basically, the only two mobs we didn't get were Cursed (which popped at 4AM our time) and Emperor (which we are not doing for the near future due to ghey key/bane weapon camps). Now, the HP was our first attempt. He's very rarely popped during our primetime and even when he has, we've rarely had the crowd control necessary to attempt him online. As it happened, we had some solid turn out and had about 50 folks up there. Despite a little sketchy start, we recovered nicely before engaging the High Priest. We got things back under control and executed our plan. He went down with relative ease once we got moving and got the repop cycle broken a bit. A hearty well done on our first HP kill.

Lastly, but not leastly, was our biggest kill of the weekend. The Statue of Rallos Zek spawned and we had our spotters sitting and waiting for it. As soon as it happened, we dropped what we were doing and mobilized 54 people to Kael. We put down Vindi (BP to Mythixx) and the Statue (ST Key to Damino, Cloak of Falling Stars to Kthan, other junk will be sold for guild bank) within 30 minutes of mobilizing. It took us a little while to find where the Idol was hiding, but he too got spanked quickly. Lastly, we found and pulled the Avatar of War, arguably what was once the toughest mob in Velious. Needless to say, he went down. We had a nearly flawless tank switch which really was impressive. I wish I'd lived to see it. Basically the MT and I died instantly after (I'm the king of aggro) and that was it before aggro and heals were picked up seamlessly. Sure, we're only about a year and a half after it was done on other servers and probably a year after it was first done on Vallon, but it's still a major accomplishment for us (and the aggro weapons will help a ton in future efforts).

We tried Shei Vintras for the first time on Monday. Didn't go terribly well. Without even really getting going, we got her to about 60%. We knew about the add issues ahead of time and we learned a lot about the fight. She'll go down next time.

We also completed 2 ring 10 wars and about 5 or 6 shawl 8 battles (thankfully, several of which were clerics, shaman and druids with MGB). We have at least 5 more people ready for ring 10 and probbaly another 5 that will soon be ready for shawl 8.

Rippin Weekend

Well, things had been a little slow lately, but this weekend we broke some new ground and were very diligent about downing just about anything that we could get our hands on.

Fist we'll start with the new stuff (well new for us anyway). We headed to the Deep with some hope that the Burrower Beast would be up so we could try our hand at the Burrower Parasite ring. As luck would have it, he was up. We brought 48 people and we didn't have a single death at any point in the event. It was far easier than many of us thought it would be and was a hell of a lot of fun.

We also cleared all of the Ancients in ST again. Had several of the nice drops including the 2 Lungi's of the Forbidden (which I think all of our monks now have), Clawed Coat of Tyro and a couple other of the "better" drops. ST mostly just fills in gaps in our gear but there are still some really nice items in the drop tables of the ancients. We also had 3 new melees get primalized in the process.

Following the Burrower, we went and beat up Aerin'Dar again. He is a tough fight still but we zerged him good. Had a sloppy first attempt with some bad positioning on the pull, but the second time he got smoked. We got a few more of our folks who missed our first kill flagged for HOH in the process (probably only around 5-10 folks of the 55 zeph present still needed the flag... also flagged a few aps and a couple Defiant alts).

More of the Same Down

We have some more stuff that's been dropped but nothing really new. We've had some difficulties of late having a decent number of clerics and shamans so no new ground has been broken in the last few weeks. We've also had some key players (including multiple officers) away on business or taking short breaks to recharge so that too has had an effect. I'd expect some more interesting news to pop up in the next week or so though.

In the mean time, ancients, IV, Rhags 1,2,3, Creator, lots of BoT mini's (though not many tower bosses) and CT have died in the last couple days or so despite not being terribly raid heavy lately. Some of us have been PVPing with every spare moment, others have been working on levels and AAs. I have lists of some loot that dropped at home (including some new ornate armor pieces) and when I get a moment, I'll add a few of the more notable pieces here.

AWOL

I've been out of town for almost a week and it seems lots happened while I was gone. Worthy of note was our first Grummus kill, another Archlich kill, and we got some flags for PoTa assisting Defiant on Behemoth.

First on the Grummus kill, from what I'm told he was an easy, easy fight. We had 55ish folks there and we lost a few to adds at the end, but Aerin'Dar is a much tougher fight. So we have our first batch of folks flagged for CoD.
