Klandicar DOWN

After a busy Friday, the weekend was mostly left for the HECK guilds to exp and work on epics individually. Some progress on several rogue epics was finally made when a few people got their hate books and killed Renux. Moor, Xanroth and Talyen were hard at work formulating plans and practicing pulls for killing Stanos on Wendesday in hopes that HECK can achieve a serverwide first of getting a few high elf masks. Fazdazen still needs Undertow to complete his mage epic and he was diligently watching kedge for the spawn. Others spent the day PVPing in Skyfire, OT, Chardok, etc.

In other positive news, Nintelten became HECK's first level 60 chanter. For those who don't know, Nint had a 56 mage but when seeing our shortage of chanters, he restarted a new character and promptly leveled him up past his first main. The lack of a 60 chanter has long been a stumbling block for HECK. With this situation now rectified, KEI will flow freely at raids and rapture and dictate will help greatly in crowd control situations. Congrats to Nint on this important milestone.

Saturday night Chaunie and Shamf attended a Sleepers Tomb raid with Defiant and upon killing the 4th warder (a server first, grats Defiant), she was lucky enough to be awarded a Primal Velium Battle Axe. This represents HECK's first primal weapon. Hopefully, in a few months when we've collected about another 20 or so Sleeper's Keys, we'll be able to begin farming these ourselves a bit.

On that note, on Sunday HECK waited all day for enough clerics to log on to take down Klandicar. When we got enough, we headed to WW to try to kill the beast again. First attempt got him to about 2% but we were unable to land a slow. We lost a few people, gained a few people, modified our strategy a bit, and successfully landed a slow for the second attempt, easily killing him after that.

Fun Filled Friday

Started the day early with a Fay kill at about 5pm EST for Kimmber's epic. Had 18 people but had no shammies, chanters or mages. Only had 2 clerics but had no Aego or POG. Still, we had a fair number of druids present for healing and the lizard went down with just a couple deaths (ironically Kimmber being one of them). Either way, grats to her on her epic.

Next we beat down Velk. We had a good crew with lots of damage output, but when we got there, we found that we didn't have any of our 60 warriors present. No biggie, we logged Chaunie on and beat the guy down. We had 40 people, had one death (Silvarus and his uber giantsbane, overnukked a bit). Our cleanest kill to date.

We then moved on to Derakor the Vindicator in Kael. Like his cousin, Velketor, Vindi wasn't too fond of us. It took us two pulls to kill him because for some reason, people weren't ready the first time and Chaunie ate it within about 2 seconds of him arriving. Oh well, we rezzed up, rebuffed in about 20 minutes and started reclearing the arena. The second attempt went smoothly and he dropped some nice stuff for us.

A quick jaunt to two zones away brought us to the final battle for Kthan's monk epic. Much like Chiman's earlier this week, the battle was over quickly with no deaths. Grats to the new epic monkey. :)

At this point we sort of split up a bit. Some people went to exp. A few groups I think were headed to HOT to try and farm armor. All of these mobs and all travel time took about six hours total, which is quite respectable for us.

Kland down again

Well, we were moving to Zlandicar but it turns out Fated beat us by about 5 mins. So we decided to beat up his older brother, Kland. Debuffs went in smoothly, Nashwan landed a slow, and the beast went down without a fight. We had a few deaths (probably like 10 or so), but many, like myself, were because we had arrived late and were completely unbuffed. No biggie. He got blowed up real good all the same.

We then messed around doing some NTOV pulls as some of the entryway named were still up from the patch. Unfortunately, our monk was getting really bad lag and was having some difficulty on the pulls. After about an hour of the monks repeatedly dying, we switched to HOT to get a few drops and make the night productive before some people had to go.

New Monk Epic and Mage Staff

We completed Chiman's epic battle this evening in about 20 minutes. We had massive overkill there but it was a fun, albeit brief fight. Grats to him. We were going to do some NTOV mobs but we lacked the sufficient number of clerics. We then wanted to do Rhags, but they decided not to spawn. :/

We then wanted to check on the Magi in Hate for Fazdazen. We found Silent Souls up there trying to get him. So we mobilized two groups and cleared them out, claiming the Magi for Fazdazen. He now has his crown and his earth staff which means pretty much, he has no real hard parts left to his epic. He should be done within the week. Next up for Earth Staff: Sumon.

Fulgore Epic

Fulgore reported over HECK chat that Phinny was up at about 1:30am eastern time Monday night. A bunch of us headed to Kedge Keep to kill Phinny for the last drop Fulgore needed for his epic. We pulled the first 4 seahorses then decided it was late and we didnt want to wait for the chanter otw. We pulled Phinny and got 1 add which was quickly dispatched by Rubicant and Svenuce's epic pets and nukage, and Phinny died seconds later. He dropped the robe which will be used for Rogue epic multiquest, and the Blue Crystal Staff! The final piece Fulgore required. Grats Fulgore. Everyone went to bed after that.

Quiet Monday

We just messed around mostly tonight. A group of us smashed Uulump for Kimmber, then we tried to head to Klandicar. Unfortunately, it seems AO beat us to him. I then pulled ten people to Sky to kill Gwan for Kthan and then to Nurga to kill Trut, also for Kthan. We then sort of broke up and exped a bit and just before a bunch of us camped, we killed Phingel for Fulgore, completing his wizard epic (more details on that above). It seems at some point in the evening, a group went to kill Brother Quinn for Beatslug, though the ornery monk didn't drop what was needed. Better luck next time.

Kael Sunday

Word went out early that the Statue of Rallos Zek popped early Sunday morning. We mobilzed what troops we could to Kael and set up camp in the arena until more people arrived. We just messed around farming giants for faction and got a few drops. Most notably, a silk robe dropped for Laticia (she doesn't know it yet), so HECK will have another corpse summoning robe. A leather tunic dropped for Crickett. Obviously lots of random chain and plate armor dropped as well from the named beneath the arena. Nothing really critical but it made for upgrades for some people.

Just before we were about to pull Vindi, there was a cable outage or something in the Windsor/Hamilton area and we lost Chaunie, Psymon, Nint, Nashwan, Serranimal, etc. This hurt us most as we needed a shaman for Focus. We had all of the tanks and clerics we needed to make it happen. We waited a bit more than an hour for them to come back before we started trying to secure another shaman to proceed. We lost a few clerics in the wait and were poised to lose more unless we moved soon.

So we tried a pull and unfortunately, our MT got out of range of the healers at a bad time. We subsequently wiped. We rezzed up, buffed up and an hour later, pulled again. This time we got 2 adds and a pop on the pull. Clerics were aggroed by the adds and again we wiped. Cadane and Shamf made it out successfully and we rezzed up again.

We had a few clerics log on at an opportune time. Windsor came back online and we managed to split out the guardians from Vindi on the pull before him so we were assured of having him singly. This time, the clerics kept Leonxx alive almost the entire fight until the last 15 seconds or so when one of the clerics ran OOM. Either way, we did a tank switch and lost a few melees on the enrage but all went fine. Vindi dropped his bootsfor Ailzen.

Lazy Saturday...

Well, we had the intention of doing our first NTOV raid today, however, when we went to check on what mobs were up, we saw that only 2 of the named in the entire zone were still standing, and they happened to be 2 deep NTOV mobs that we probably aren't quite able to do yet. We checked for Rhags1/2, Rublecrush, and Va'Dyn. None were up. So, we figured we'd do Velk, Vindi and Trak/Gore as a fall back plan. Well, Velk, as it turned out was killed the night before by Defiant, trying to keep Xanit away from it. Vindi was killed earlier in the day and wouldn't be up for a few more hours so we headed to Trak, just as something to do. We were a little short on some key classes so Trak made sense as it was because of our numbers (2 clerics, 1 chanter (who was also playing one of the clerics), 1 shaman).

We had a couple groups work their way down through the Juggs to Trak's lair and we proceeded to have Archeax and Psymon work their magic on the Protector. Unfortunately, Trak aggroed and got stuck on the ramp. Even after COHes and /qs, Trak stayed there and as Psy and Arch went back to try and get the job done, he was pulled all the way across the bridge. We figured, what the hell, he's single, and we have fair damage output here, let's try to nuke him down and keep him from gating. We got him to probably less than 1K in about 45 seconds when he got his gate off. Thus begins the charge across the bridge, the summons and the adds. We wiped but got Bryer and Ancalagon camped out.

In going to rez up, Ancalagon, though he camped down below, was wisked to the entrance when he logged back in, by some mysterious bug. Bryer rezzed me and I then COHed Anc, back down to begin rezzing. We had rezzed about 3 people when Jugg repops started again and we wiped a second time. :(

Oh well, we summoned corpses in about 45 minutes or so but lost a few people. After the wipe, we had 1 cleric, 0 chanters, 0 shamans so I suggested we exp in Sebillis while we hope other people log on. We did that for about an hour when we got word that the Broken Golem was up in Fear. So Fulgore logged on and we rushed to fear, killing a darkie or two on the way. :)

Killed the Broken/Enraged Golem with no deaths easily enough and Fulgore is epic. Ebudan also turned in his final pieces for his epic, so another epic paly is in our ranks. With what we had there, I figured perhaps it would be a good day to work on some epic stuff given that we had a lack of certain key people and classes.

To this end, we headed up to Sky with two groups to beat up some freak on Noble isle for Chiman's monk epic. Gwan dropped for Chiman in about 5 minutes moving him closer to completion.

Those same two groups then went to Skyfire to kill Elrig the Old for Darkbire (success). About then a group of us then went to go get a mob for Crackar in OT (who was /afk at the time). We killed a few darks on the way to the outpost (probably like five or six) then invised to go deep into the back of the Outpost. Crackar triggered the mob (a 55 rogue) and we subsequently beat him down. She is just two steps away from being our second SK (of three total, I think, in all of HECK).

Not content with this, our merry band of about 10 people now headed to the Hole to do some more epic work. Ryunzun got Jaleil for his epic, so he's just one item away I believe. Then we killed Ghost of Kindle for Einan, and he too is one item away from competion of his epic.

The final stop was a quick check to see if the Sleeping Ogre was up in Nurga for the second to last step for Chiman's epic. Low and behold, it was, so he triggered Trut and our 10 people bitch-slapped him back to Ogguk. Chiman is just a final battle away from his monk epic.

At this point, I and a few other people (notably our only cleric, Shamf and our tank, Crackar) had to log. Hopefully more productive things happened after this point as it was still fairly early in the evening.

As it turns out, more did happen. The Spirit of Shissar spawned in Fear and a group went to go get it for Einan's epic. They were successful. While we were working on epic items, another group or two were farming faction and exp in Kael and a robe dropped for Nambus. Crickett also MQed a globe of swirling color to complete Ryunzun's ranger epic.

Another Epic Druid

Banditfist from TLHH has become our latest epic druid (I think that's #342,433,287). Faydedar is dead again. Had mad overkill forces present (I think close to 25 of us) and it went down with no deaths on our part. I even got a few swings in. Grats to Bandit on his new leafblower.

Rubicant, Ailzen, Chiman and myself then hightailed it to Lavastorm to try to beat up Eejag. We had a little difficulty locating a fire sprite to trigger him. But eventually we found him and the 2 mages killed Eejag for the monkey.

Just to sort of keep this record fairly up to date, there was a Fear raid (semi-problematic due to political issues) on Wednesday night. It didn't go exactly as planned but Laticia I believe did get a piece off one of the golems for her necro epic. Thursday night was TOV as usual. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend but there were at least a dozen drops, most notable among them a plate BP for Ebudan.

Not much happening today for some reason. We tried a brief Fear raid, but there were no Cazic, golems, draco or any other named up. :(

Our Evening in Sky

Well, we spent Friday night in Sky to try and kill a few birds with one stone. We cleared 1 to 4 in about 2 hours. In that time, Ebudan and Halrahij got their Paly epics turned in so they're done. Grats to them. Thanoslug got the last item or two for his 41% paly haste belt, so that should be a good upgrade for him. Laticia and Visant got cloaks off the Keeper of Souls for their necro epics. We then zipped to isle 7 to try and farm a few mage crowns. After a couple mishaps we got there (thanks Aleval) and began clearing the island.

Exceptional mage pulling (ahem) got the job done eventually. As usual, we all took a few deaths on 7. Ghey DTing mobs and all makes that happen. We also had some difficulty splitting all the undine spirits intially, but eventually, mage pulling and a bit of brute force prevailed :) In the end, only one crown dropped, which went to Fazdazen. Rubicant has in his posession the one extra crown from last time that will go to Sumon, who is the next in line. We still need a few more crowns so we'll head back again in a few weeks or something.

Grats to Galatea

Galatea completed her mage epic today becoming HECK's fourth epic mage. Our mage brigade just got a little bit more powerful. Some time soon, I'll be putting together another all mage Grizznot raid or something, so stay tuned mages.

Klandicar bites the big one!

That's right folks! Chaunie is the recipient of HECK's first Sleeper's Tomb Key! It was a great fight, got him to no visible hp on our first attempt, but Thrack was the last to die. We rezzed and buffed up fast and Klandicar took a nap !

Yet another first... Statue falls to HECK

In what represents another big first for us, we downed the Statue of Rallos Zek. This fight wasn't quite as pretty as most battles. We lost Chaunie (our MT) about halfway through the fight and it was a bit of a scramble to the finish. Quite a few losses.

All the same, victory was ours and another mob becomes farmable for us opening still new doors.

We took Vindi down again today and I believe we'll be moving towards the Statue afterwards.

Severlious Eats It

Well, not really a challenge for us, but a necessary and highly contested mob, Severlious, the silly dragon of EJ, popped tonight. We got word and mobilized. In a few minutes we had 30 people there and again, some crazy cleric surplus (I like it, let's keep that up).

And you know, it's all because of our skilled nukers that we down these mobs with so few deaths:

 
Vindi Down!

Well, it was our first try as HECK to take down the giant, and we were successful on the very first pull. We had about 50 people there (lots of folks wanted to help) and we had great turnout from our big tanks and clerics (I think we had 7 clerics!). We had very few losses and the fight was over in about 2 minutes or so. We actually got him a little unexpectedly... Psymon died on the pull (after previously flawlessly splitting out the temple guards) and Vindi then just showed up and beat up Potus and his ghey spectre pet. :)

 
TOV Thursdays

Thursday night we went to TOV to try and pick up some armor. The wurmies in the Halls of Testing were being stingy and so the drops weren't as plentiful as they could have been. I don't remember everything but I seem to recall plate helms going to Aerick and Incantanty. Chain pants went to Xanroth, who then passed down his Myrkolar's to Kyppe. There were several plate bracers and a couple plate boots. I think Soshen got one of the bracers and Laxen a pair of boots. Not sure who got others. There were some leather sleeves and at least one leather bracer as well, but I forget who got both. I or someone else will write down the drops next time.

Welcome to the HECK alliance test site...

I figured now that we're actually doing a few PvE things that we can be proud of, it's about time we start publicizing some of our victories and had a bit more polish. If this meets with the approval of our board and officers, I'll appoint a few more people to be contributors and administrators, so we can share the burden/joy of keeping this page updated.

For those who don't know, HECK has been growing in power by leaps and bounds in the last three or four months. We have a good deal of level 60s now and have succeeded in taking down such mobs as Velketor the Sorcerer, Rhags 1 and 2, all the Kunark dragons, etc. As we set our sites on new goals, I thought this might be a good medium to communicate to the public what we are capable of and where we're going.

Here's just a few old screens (and I mean really old, like a year and a half old) just to test out how this sort of works as a publishing system.
